Siberian spruce / larch

Because of the very long and cold winters in Siberia, these slow growing trees are very strong. In addition, the Siberian fir is light and at the same time very resistant. With the Siberian fir, we can guarantee the longevity of the hot tub. Other advantages of the Siberian fir are:

    easy to edit,
    well suited for German weather conditions,
    cheaper compared to other types of wood

Thermowood

Thermowood has a number of important advantages over unprocessed spruce due to its thermal treatment:

    High durability class (1 or 2),
    better insulation,
    longer lifespan of the sauna,
    minimal moisture absorption,
    environmentally friendly,
    characteristic darker color,
    treated in depth.

During the heating process, the thermowood is heated up to 230 degrees, which removes any sugar, carbohydrates and resins it contains. After removing these substances, the thermowood is unattractive to fungi and insects. This extends the service life considerably.

Red cedar

The red cedar comes from North America or Canada. It is also called the giant tree of life because it reaches a height of up to 50 m. Some specimens grow up to 75 m with a trunk diameter of 2 m. The red cedar only branches from a height of 30 m. The woods are even and free of knots over long lengths.
Red cedar provides these advantages

    natural oils provide an aromatic scent
    Additional preservation treatments are not necessary because of the oils
    Fungi and vermin stay away
    meets the highest demands
    extremely dimensionally stable

These disadvantages are to be considered

    not native, must be imported
    strikes a comparatively strong price

Oak

    Oak wood is particularly weatherproof and resilient, even in difficult conditions.
    Robustness and durability have made oak a symbol of strength and endurance. Not all of the wood is durable for that long.
    The heartwood in the middle is hard and heavy. It is easy to process and shows only a small amount of shrinkage.
    It is also very resistant to insect and fungal attack.
    Oak wood is classified in durability class 2 and is therefore considered to be particularly durable compared to other woods.
    It can therefore not only be used indoors, but also outdoors.
    Oak wood can be dried without any problems, but it does take a little time.
    There is little wear and tear on the robust wood.

The size of the hot tub

What size does my hot tub need? Only you can answer this question. But we'll give you a few tips along the way:

     How many people will be sharing the hot tub?
     Where will the hot tub be located in the future / do I have space for the desired size?

Another tip: do not over-dimension your hot tub, because bigger is not always better! Remember that the larger the hot tub, the more water has to be heated, which affects the duration of the heating.

Oven cover

Instead of the standard staircase (version without riser) you can choose the rounded version, either in spruce or in the chosen tub wood, or a freely planned staircase.

Federal Immission Control Act

Since there are no applicable regulations for hot tubs, we recommend that you consult your local chimney sweep before buying a hot tub.

Since hot tubs are not used in closed rooms, previous chimney sweepers decided that heating a hot tub does not fall under the BImSchG, but rather is similar to operating a charcoal grill.

However, we recommend keeping a distance of approx. 15m to the neighboring property and paying attention to the height of the smoke pipe. There are different regulations for smoke pipes depending on the federal state and location, since clearances to surrounding windows, doors and ventilation systems must be observed. Your chimney sweeper on site can also tell you this.
